Secret of a Perfectly Grilled Chicken Wings ... So Yummy & Tasty


One of the tastiest part of chicken I would say is the wings. That is why it is serve most of the time in our table. This chicken wings recipe that I am going to cook in this blog was only discovered unexpectedly. It was made of few spices when blend together gives most of the taste that a chicken wings can offer. So sit back and find out the secret of a perfect grilled chicken wings in the oven!



INGREDIENTS:

  • 900g chicken wings - organic or free range
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt -  100 %
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder -  can be adjusted depending on your preference
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil - for brushing

Prep Time:  5 mins     Cooking time:  30 - 40 mins       Servings:  3 - 4

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Wash the chicken wings thoroughly. 
  2. In a big bowl, add the chicken, sea salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and fish sauce. Mix very well, until all the ingredients stick to the chicken. Marinate for 10 mins.                                                                                                                                          

  3. Pre-heat the oven at 180 c for 5 mins. 
  4. Then line the marinated chicken wings in the grilling pan. And put it in the oven for 15 to 20 mins. Set aside the marinade for the brushing.                                           

  5. When the skin is looking brown and crispy, remove from the oven. Prepare the brushing by adding the extra virgin olive oil to the marinade.                                 
                                  

  6. Brush the marinade on the top brown and crispy side of the chicken, then turn it around and brush again of same marinade.                                                              

  7. Put back to the oven for another 10 - 15 mins until cook. 
  8. Serve and enjoy with your favourite sidings.

Tips:
  • Always give time to marinate the meat even for 10 mins to absorb the flavour.
  • I observed that a little water from washing helps to create a marinade for later use, thus don't remove the water completely leaving the meat really dry before mixing the spices.
  • Always brush it with marinade mix with extra virgin olive oil when the outer layer turned brown and crispy, this doesn't only give a glossy look, but also gives a flavourful bite.
